Multimedia Narrations on work, skills and innovation in the mechanical industry
From 2000 to 2014, the Metalnet laboratory collaborated with Officina Emilia in carrying out research activities on multimedia document production on mechanical companies in Modena, on the work of women in the mechanical industry in Modena and on the history of skills and innovation in the post-war age. The various multimedia products, including a video installation and a series of video interviews, which from 2009 to 2014 were part of the layout and documentation of the workshop museum in Officina Emilia, can now be consulted online.

SONIA_ Womens mechanics [SONIA_La meccanica delle donne_it], 2012
The SONIA project is based on a series of researches on the mechanical industry documented in the Metalnet laboratory and gathers first-hand information through a series of interviews addressed to a group of workers employed by three mechanical partner companies. These interviews would make it possible to compare the narrations and attributions of meaning related to the cluster of Modena's mechanics, work, family and private life, relationships between men and women, inside and outside companies.
