The research projects of the Metalnet laboratory

Metalnet is a laboratory of applied research also supported by educational activities.

Since 2000 the research projects have covered the following topics:

• a survey of census data, to study the spatial structure of mechanical specializations in Italy (1951-2001)
• an analysis on the networks of relations in the mechanical engineering industry in the province of Modena and Emilia-Romagna, through sample surveys (Modena Metalnet_2000 and Modena Metalnet_2005) and panel surveys (Innovation, globalization, territory_2007-08, Mechanical Industry ER_2010 and Mechanical Industry ER_2015);
• an in-depth analysis of balance sheet data on mechanical engineering companies in Northern Italy (Economics and Finance in the metalworking sector_2010);
• an in-depth analysis of the automotive industry (Digitalization in the automotive supply chain (2017-) and the collaboration with the automotive observatory;
• an analysis on the impact on industrial relations of the acquisition of Lamborghini by the Audi-VW group (Lamborghini_contracts)
